A Wayfinder is a thing that helps you find your way (or not get lost). I have often been accused by people closest to me that I do not have the greatest sense of direction, but one aspect I disagree with is that if I have a Wayfinder, I never get lost, such as a map, a compass, directions, etc. The work spends a lot of time meandering to try and find its way, and even at points, gets frustrated at the lack of said Wayfinder. It relies way too hard on the player’s internal sense of time, space, and timbral awareness, potentially causing distress, but when it finally finds its way, it becomes satisfying to the point of finding one’s way.

wayfinder noun 1. a sign, landmark, or other indicator used to assist people in navigating to a particular location. “the chimney stacks have been a wayfinder for nearly five decades” A Wayfinder is, as astutely put above, a thing that helps you find your way (or not get lost).
